Protecting Our Oceans – A Joint Effort – Geneva

The ocean is fundamental to life on Earth — sustaining biodiversity, regulating our climate, supporting livelihoods, and forming an essential part of our natural and cultural heritage.
Join us for a dynamic and insightful event that dives deep into the importance of the ocean and its role in shaping our world. This event will explore crucial topics related to ocean conservation, management, and global collaboration.
Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the ocean’s opportunities and challenges, along with practical insights into how different stakeholders can make a difference.
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Marina Anselme, Secretary General at MSC Foundation, and Dr. Lisa Emelia Svensson, Minister Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Sweden as our keynote speakers follwed by a moderated discussion by Suzanne Lauritzen, Tax Partner at EY.
Dr. Marina Alselme, as Secretary General at MSC Foundation, will introduce their vital work in protecting our oceans and marine life, and why this mission is key to ensuring a sustainable future. MSC Foundation utlises MSC’s global reach and unique knowledge of the sea to take immediate action that protects and nurtures the blue planet and its people. Working in synergy, the MSC Foundation leverages the MSC Group’s maritime expertise to support long-term programmes with leading partners, assisting communities in need. Their vision is to restore the balance between people and nature within a generation, driven by a commitment to leave a better world for future generations.
Dr. Lisa Emelia Svensson, currently Minister Counsellor to the Permanent Mission of Sweden, previously joined Sweden’s diplomatic service in 2002, working in the U.S. and Belgium. She focused on climate change as a diplomat-in-residence at Johns Hopkins University and authored a book in 2008 on transatlantic climate solutions. She led EU negotiations on sustainable development with ASEAN, MERCOSUR, and China, served as Sweden’s Ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility, and later as Ambassador for the Ocean. From 2016 to 2019, she headed the oceans branch at the UN Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to listen to and discuss with experts within the field of our oceans and marine life.
