Sustainability and World Trade – a Swedish Perspective – Geneva
Join us for an event with Ambassador Nina Tornberg, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the World Trade organisation (WTO), and Johan Rockström, Swedish scientist, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and Professor in Earth System Science at the University of Potsdam. Johan Rockström will join virtually.
The future of world trade is at a pivotal moment, driven by the growing urgency to address environmental challenges. As climate change, resource depletion, and global emissions become critical concerns, integrating sustainability into international trade has become more than a necessity—it is a defining aspect of modern economic growth.
This evolving landscape presents both challenges and opportunities for global trade. The shift toward greener technologies, ethical supply chains, and environmentally conscious policies signals a transformation in how goods and services are produced and exchanged. At this seminar we will look at the Swedish perspective and the future of world trade adapting to new sustainability standards.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to this seminar.
