The Swedish Swiss Chamber of Commerce are pleased to invite you to a Business Talk with Stefan Brupbacher, Director of Swissmem, on Thursday 2 March 2023.
Swiss manufacturing companies are global leaders in many niche markets. Yet, the energy shortage, climate crisis and the re-emergence of protectionism are some of the many challenges our tech industry is facing. At the same time, these challenges offer opportunities, which companies want and will seize to maintain industry as a strong economic pillar of Switzerland’s, and Europe’s economy.

This event follows the SSCC Annual General Meeting and gives an excellent opportunity to meet and network with the members of the Board of Directors and the SSCC members.
If you have registered as a member for the SSCC AGM, you do not need to register for this event as well. This keynote will follow directly after the AGM.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Stefan Brupbacher
CEO, Swissmem
Dr. Stefan Brupbacher is CEO of Swissmem, the leading association for SMEs and large companies in Switzerland’s mechanical and electrical engineering industries (MEM industries) and related technology-oriented sectors.
He studied law at the University of Zurich and received his doctorate there. He also holds an Executive Master in International and European Business Law from the University of St. Gallen and a Master in International Affairs specializing in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University (SAIS) in Bologna and Washington DC.
From 2014 to 2018 he was Secretary General of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (WBF). Prior to that, Mr. Brupbacher was Secretary General of FDP.The Liberals, Switzerland’s business oriented liberal party, since 2008. In previous positions, he gained a broad range of professional experience, including as Head of the Secretariat of the Economic Affairs and Taxation Committees (WAK) of the National Council and the Council of States and as Deputy Head of International Labour Affairs at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). Since November 2022 he has been Chairman of Orgalim, the umbrella organization Europe’s technology industries.
